History & Overview

Founded in 1978 in Vista, California (San Diego County), HRE Performance Wheels has spent over 45 years designing, manufacturing, and finishing wheels completely in-house in the USA. Under president Alan Peltier, HRE operates from a TÜV-approved manufacturing facility that has passed rigorous German certification since 2008.

HRE uses aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum billets weighing over 100 lbs, sourced from an Orange County manufacturer that also supplies Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, and Boeing. Their engineering-first philosophy means designs are driven by performance requirements rather than aesthetics alone.

In partnership with GE Additive, HRE created the world's first 3D-printed titanium automotive wheels (HRE3D+) using Electron Beam Melting technology. This reduced a 20-inch wheel from 20 lbs to 16 lbs while cutting material waste from 80% to 5%. HRE also developed proprietary FMR® (Forged Monoblok Rim) barrel technology, eliminating the air seal required by traditional three-piece wheels.
