O.Z. Racing
Italian motorsport legend with 150+ race victories
History & Overview
O.Z. Racing was founded in 1971 in Rossano Veneto, in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, by Silvano Oselladore and Pietro Zen. The company name comes from their initials. Both founders were involved in Italian rally and circuit racing, and they built the business specifically to make better wheels for competition use. The Veneto region was already a hub for Italian motorsport parts manufacturing, and the timing aligned with a surge in Italian rally activity that gave the young company an immediate market.
O.Z. built a serious motorsport presence through the late 1970s and 1980s, establishing a long relationship with the World Rally Championship and supplying wheels to championship-winning cars across multiple eras. On the circuit racing side, the brand became an official F1 wheel supplier and was at the front of the grid during some of the most competitive seasons in the sport's history, including the Williams years in the early 1990s when the team was at the peak of its dominance.
The Ultraleggera, introduced in the 2000s, became one of O.Z.'s most recognized aftermarket designs. The name means 'ultralight' in Italian, and the wheel delivered on the promise through minimal material in the spokes. It carried genuine motorsport DNA into a package that worked on street cars, and it found a strong following among enthusiasts who cared about weight. The HLT (High Light Technology) flow-forming process, developed from F1 experience, was applied across the performance lineup to bring forged-level properties to a wider price range.
O.Z. remains active in motorsport today, with wheels appearing in F1, WRC, DTM, and endurance racing. The brand serves as an OEM supplier to Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin, and McLaren on the road car side. The aftermarket catalog covers multiple tiers from the cast Superturismo and Ultraleggera options through to the fully custom Atelier Forged Zeus series for bespoke builds.
