TSW
European-inspired design at accessible prices
History & Overview
TSW was founded in the late 1960s in South Africa by Eddie Keizan, a former Formula One racing driver. The name TSW stands for Tiger Sports Wheels. Keizan's firsthand racing experience drove the brand's early focus on building quality wheels for South African motorsport. South Africa had an active motorsport community at the time, and there was local demand for quality racing wheels that didn't need to be imported from Europe.
Through the 1980s and into the 1990s, TSW expanded from its motorsport origins into the broader aftermarket. Terence Sheckter established the brand's North American operation, bringing TSW into the US market. The brand built a catalog of multi-spoke and European-style cast designs that positioned it as an accessible option for drivers who wanted a clean, styled look without paying forged prices. TSW became one of the more widely distributed brands in the US aftermarket, carried by major tire shops and wheel retailers across the country. Popular models like the Nurburgring, Luco, and Silvano became recognizable names in the mainstream cast wheel segment.
TSW added flow formed construction, which they call Rotary Forged, to their premium models. The process spins and forms the barrel under heat, increasing density and strength in the rim area while reducing weight compared to a standard cast wheel. This gave TSW a credible performance option alongside their standard cast lineup without a dramatic price increase. The brand also became the parent behind Black Rhino, Cray, Beyern, and Mandrus wheels, each targeting specific vehicle segments.
Today TSW sits in the mainstream accessible tier of the North American aftermarket wheel market. The brand is not a performance-first choice the way forged or track-oriented brands are, but it covers a wide range of fitments, finishes, and vehicle types and remains one of the more visible names at tire shops and through online retailers. For buyers who want a clean European-inspired look at a reasonable price, TSW delivers consistent options.
